I have to take a couple days off from programming, but I saw a cool system used in Minecraft called "combat flagging".
I think I might implement it:
If you:
- damage another player
- get damaged by another player
You get combat flagged
If you:
- die
- Take no damage for 30 seconds
You get unflagged
If Combat Flagged
- No /vip
- No console kill
- No /switch
- Quitting will add an entry to the logs "Player quit the game while combat flagged"
Players using trains or their own weapons to kill themselves would just need to be reported the usual way. -
what are the implications of these changes?

These changes would make it so players couldn't use commands to suicide out of combat. It would restrict them to some other form of death. If they died in some other way then it would be logged so we could look it up if a report was made. Assuming no demo or other proof was provided by the player making the report.
